The Zicon GTX® MID TF is a tactical boot designed for professional use. They are designed to move across a variety of extreme terrain with load carrying. These boots combine walking comfort with the support and protection of a rigid trekking boot. Their design is a multi-layer structure where every detail is thought out.
Materials and technologies
The upper part of the boot is made of a combination of genuine leather with Cordura® inserts. Leather is a durable material that has good vapor permeability and moisture protection properties. The front and side areas of the shoe are constructed using Minimal Seams technology, which reduces the number of seams and overlapping materials by using large pieces of material in the formation of the upper part of the shoe. This reduces the number of pressure points on the foot, which increases comfort while walking.
Thanks to Rayflect technology, pigments in the upper layers of the leather reflect sunlight. Thus, the shoe heats up less and slower, making it easier to move around outside in the summer, especially in black models.
Inside, there is a Gore-Tex® Professional membrane that guarantees protection from precipitation and good vapor permeability in any type of activity. The most important thing that distinguishes this membrane from its analogues is the control of products at every stage of production directly by Gore-Tex®.
In the midsole layer, there is a special LOWA® DynaPU® insert. This is a specially developed foam layer that plays a key role in the cushioning properties of the shoe. Thanks to its cellular structure, this midsole provides an improved rebound effect. LOWA DynaPU® also maintains its high performance with constant use.
LOWA® Covert outsole
It has the following features:
- resistance to contact heat and cold, fuels and oils;
- the tread is self-cleaning thanks to the use of LOWA® Rubber Outsole technology;
- Slip Resistance technology protects against slipping on wet, slippery and oily surfaces;
- optimized rubber compound that provides reliable traction on various surfaces, whether asphalt or soil;
- manufactured in compliance with the ESD standard, which provides protection against electrostatic discharges.
A two-zone lacing system is provided for optimal foot fixation. Its concept is that the upper and lower parts of the boot are laced independently of each other. This makes it possible to individually adjust the fit of the boot and evenly distribute the laces. There is a small pocket on the tongue where you can place the tails of the laces and minimize the possibility of them catching on various objects. There is also a special loop at the back for easy putting on the boot.
All layers are joined together through a technically sophisticated injection process. The upper part of the shoe is placed in a specially designed mold and then the different layers of polyurethane foam are injected into it. In this way, the upper, midsole and outsole are joined together to form a reliable one-piece construction.
